When our health is not as it should be than problems can take place which can affect our every day functions. Mental health is now a growing concern

For example ‘Mental illness refers to a wide range of mental health conditions – disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behaviour. Examples of mental illness include depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive behaviours.
Being healthy is therefore important because it allows individuals to be socially included. Being healthy means that people are able to live a better kind of life, they have the ability to participate in social activities and form relationships with others. To be healthy you need to take care of your body by eating well and taking regular exercises. It would appear that maintaining a healthy life style can be challenging at times for some people.
The traditional approach to treating injuries and ailments is the pharmaceutical route: being diagnosed, assessed and ultimately prescribed medicines and/or drugs which can in some cases lead to addiction or at the very least a patient being over-reliant on tablets.
The alternative to this overused method to cure the problem is to treat physical and mental issues with a holistic approach e.g. Reiki (which uses energy) and has a warming effect on the participant; crystal healing therapy which uses gemstones placed on the body and taps into the energetic powers of crystals and how they affect the body and mind.
Many people use this approach as a healthy method, and believe that mental issues can be improved
