The glorification of sexual immorality is a popular theme in dancehall music. The promotion of promiscuous behaviour and sexual acts are a common fixture in the genre and youthful listeners. The immoral sexual behaviour of the youth is due to stimulating effects of sexual music and they tend to gravitate towards it believing that it is acceptable conduct. According to…… research has shown that there is a correlation between dancehall music and the proliferation of sexual activities. The findings revealed that females more than males were more likely to respond psychologically to the lyrical content of the dancehall genre.At the end of the day, whatever one thinks of exotic dancing, or the sex industry as a whole, it is certainly not going anywhere.
Attempts throughout history to stop or suppress these venues have simply pushed them underground and heightened their allure. In fact, if all forms of consensual sex work were completely legalized and socially accepted, I think it would lose much of its transgressive attraction for most people.
