Perivascular soft tissue tumors are uncommon neoplasms, and is mostly originated from pericytes that express angiopoietin-1 and -2 among the perivascular soft tissue tumors.
1. Angiopoietin -1 is composed by perivascular cells and pericytes along with endothelium that involves reciprocal communication between an endothelium and pericytes.
2. Angiopoietin -2 is expressed in the endothelium and pericytes, and it increases tumor vascularization and regulate angiogenesis.
3. Ang -1 expression is identify with the pericyte recruitment for vascularization and tumor growth and develop the expression of new vessels due to Tie-2 pericyte precursors.
4. Angiopoietin is significant in angiogenesis and vascularization through the Tie 2 pathway.
5. The distribution of Ang-1 and Ang-2 was examined by immunohistochemical staining along large and small blood vessels not related with tumors.
6. Ang -1 and Ang-2 expressed malignant glomus tumors in the perivascular soft tissue tumors.
