Freedom of speech is a basic human rights and should be encouraged and taught to teenagers to fight for their freedom of speech .
There are a lot of authorities involving in the encouraging process. I would like to mainly elaborate in the aspect of governments, school/teachers, parents and teenagers themselves.In a democratic country based nation like Malaysia, it is compulsory for the government to imply and encourage people to know their freedom of speech and should let their people know their rights on expressing their voices and ideas. According to Noam Chomsky, an American professor of linguistic and political analyst “The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum even encourage the more critical and dissident view. That gives people the sense that there’s free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate…” Malaysian Government should hear the voices of people to improvise their ruling style through the whole communication process a better understandings will occur between ruler and citizen.
Government should organize more event like random interviews or get together sessions with the people so that people will have a chance to share their opinion.Next aspect will be on how school or teachers should encourage teenagers to fight for their freedom of speech. Teachers should plant the seed of the spirit to fight for their freedom of speech where school is a platform is an equal platform where it will convenient for students where everyone will have their chance equally to share their opinion and thoughts with others without being limited or controlled. School is a platform where students will be taught
