IntroductionDepression is a serious disorder and widely spread illness that affects negatively on the way people think and perceive, the way they act and live their life. It is the mental disorder which leads to feelings of sadness and resulted in losing interest in important activities of life once enjoyed. Depression affects the person’s individual life as well as professional behaviours and attitudes at the work place (, 2018). It creates various negative impacts on the person with depression including low energy or excitement for works, feeling confused, angry and most of the time annoyed and negative thinking of harming others or even themselves.
One of the results of innate depression is procrastination which is stated as the practice of postponing or delaying the important tasks of life and people who are involved in procrastination are usually performing less important task before the prioritized one. This practice might result in wasting of time and missing deadlines by the person leading to negative feedback and undesirable consequences for him. Procrastination can be due to number of reasons including people desires perfectionism or they fear about the unexpected results, habit of delaying the task on tomorrow, and can be due to dynamic consistency (Gothi, 2018).

Depression and procrastination are related to one another and shows a scenario of chicken and egg because the people who are involved in act of procrastination may fall victim of depression while innate depression may result in procrastination due to fear of failure of loss.
DiscussionObservations and researchers have found relationship between depression and procrastination in number of depressed people. They found two way relationships between them in a way that depression may lead to act like procrastinate person while procrastination can result in depression. Discussing the first scenario, the people who are innate depressed due to any mental illness or disease may find them having low level of motivation leading to procrastinate their serious and important tasks and decisions. Due to their biological depression, they consider themselves incapable of doing the competitive tasks, incapable of achieving the major targets and unconfident about making timely and strategic decisions.
Lack of motivation caused by depression may result in initiating the tasks but not completing them in given time or not fulfilling the requirements. On the other hand, if a person experience reactive depression that is when not able to accomplishing the tasks or delaying the important objectives may result in overloaded stress and leading to depression. For example, if a person is habitual of perfectionism and doing every task perfectly and timely but due to some technical problem, he was not able to perform the task timely then it may result in psychological shock leading to depression (Mann, 2016).

The lack of action by the people over important task could make them feel that life is going nowhere leading to negative feelings about life leading to lack of hope which is basically the initial stage of depression. The less action is taken by them towards their goals, the more depressed they will feel. People are involved in procrastination due to various causes but most important ones are their lack of confidence and hope towards achievement, feeling of inability and helplessness to change the things in their favour. Both are interconnected in a way that you cannot distinguish that which is the cause and which one is the result.
Procrastination can be the symptom of lack of motivation and hope and may cause you to become depressed or caused due to biological innate depression. In our daily life, everybody gets suffered from procrastination and no doubt depression can make the situation worse. For example, if an employee is given a project task and also given a deadline for its completion, but the person delays it to achieve it with perfectionism and with best results. Unfortunately he is not able to achieve the target in given time and also without perfection after missing deadline. This may lead him to feel negative about his skills and energy, leading to lack of hope and motivation which will result in feeling of depression and anxiety (Breth, 2018).

Seeing the other side, if the person who is suffering from innate depression, definitely he would be having negative feelings about himself, lack of energy and motivation to achieve the targets which will lead to procrastination. The person who is depressed may fear a loss or failure from the task and might delay it to avoid that loss or most of the time not completing the task which is basically procrastination.
In order to avoid procrastination and depression, people should be rewarded for their timely achievement of tasks, they should try to work in a peaceful environment to avoid distraction, should consider themselves capable of doing things and most importantly, everyone should consider themselves skilled, confident and capable of accomplishing the important tasks with perfection and accuracy.
Both the disorders are linked in a way that at the same time a person can create leads of depression and procrastination that is the more a person is depressed the more likely he is to suffer from procrastination. On the other side, depression increases the possibility of procrastination, which will increases the anxiety and stress which is turn may result in depression (Kennard, 2018).

ConclusionDepression is a mental disorder or illness resulting in negative feelings and lack of hope and motivation in a person while procrastination is a practice of delaying or less prioritizing the important tasks of life. Both the terms are interlinked with each other and one might lead to other creating leads. Depressed person usually having low energy and motivation for achieving the goals which resulted in procrastination, at the same time, inability to achieve the targets or missing deadlines may cause depression.
