Neuroblastomais a common extra cranial pediatric solid tumor, a neoplasm of thesynapathoadrenal lineage of the neural crest 1. It metastasizes to regional lymph nodes, brain, bone, and bonemarrow. Neuroblastomas are biologically heterogeneous tumors. Some undergospontaneous differentiation and others are highly resistant to multimodaltherapy.
The clinical presentation varies, ranging from a mass that causes nosymptoms, to a primary tumor that causes critical illness as a result of localinvasion, widely disseminated disease, or both.
