IOT is affecting the industries applications and jobs and the world has many opinions about it some of them encourage enhance this system and other people are afraid of its consequences. Smart manufacturing is the most important industrial application in the IOT field. Smart manufacturing enables fast manufacturing of products, optimization of the time needed to produce and the time needed to supply the material to the industry. On the other hand, it also destroys some types of jobs in the industries and it has some privacy and safety issues. Background:7620001544955(Columbus, 2017)00(Columbus, 2017)The internet of things (IOT) is new technology contains the network that connects physical devices and controls them without the human interference.

Exchanging data and the remote control are the main purposes of the IOT. Governments and companies are spending a huge amount of money to transform the industries to smart manufacturing and according to Jain, the money invested in industrial IOT in the U.S will reach 40 billion dollars in 2020 as shown in the figure a.

Figure aHow will the IoT improve the quality of manufacturing?IOT is changing the world forever in all technology fields but it has a huge impact in the manufacturing process and according to Knieriemen, the experts expect that number of connected machines in manufacturing environments to expand from 237 million in 2015 to 923 million in 2020.A. Exchanging dataIn the past, the data was kept in the database of individual devices and was used to detect the failure after it occurred but now the data is continuously moving between the different devices and make it possible to detect the problem before it happens.1.

Greater Energy EfficiencyThe IOT tell the managers where they lose the energy, it put can decide which machine is performing better and make a maintenance schedule and how to save production money (optimization production schedule).2. Higher Product QualityMany products like devices do not show their manufacturing problem until sometime which can affect the company reputation and cause a lot of problems but with IoT, the manufacturing problem can be detected immediately by the sensors and the production would stop until the problem is solved. B. Controlling the industry1. Management The devices can communicate with each other and run the industry by there and the engineers called that the Automation. For example, some they can the smart system can automatically order new materials if the industry needs and offer jobs to supply the industry and distribute the products to the customers.

2. Maintenance Manufacturing engineers can search for the process problem like where the production slow down and they can know also if a particular device will fail so they can fix it or make a plan to replace it and by that they can avoid the cost of the maintenance of the devices and avoid the loss of money during this maintenance. According to Jain the IoT Sensors can actively monitor machines and send an alert when the equipment distort from its prescribed parameters like the temperature of the machines.

D. Safety and Security of the worker and the products According to Mccol the International Labor Organization has reported that about 151 laborers face workplace accidents every 15 seconds The IoT can monitor the industry and compute how many injuries, in which area these injuries happen and which machine cause the injuries usually and similarly the illness rates, property damages, and vehicle incidents. Why do many specialists think IOT will not improve the quality? The IOT has many challenges make many specialists afraid of this modern technology and the politics around the world are ready to make legalizations that can limit the use of IOT. A. Complexity According to Bisson, some manufacturers are still trying to catch up to the complex demands of industrial IoT and that can cause some problems in the operation processes.

B. Lesser employment of menial staff. Since the IoT devices can do different tasks in efficient way without the need of human, jobs in the industry can be replaced by the IOT to save money and time but that will create unemployment in the society.

For example, the very skilled maintenance and mechanical engineers will not be needed to monitor the machines since the industrial machines can do self-heal. Also, the industrial engineers will not be needed since the IOT can order the materials and distribute the product automatically. Because the machines can make the production plan by themselves some managers also will lose their jobs. In Addition, a large number of factory workers will be replaced by the robots since it is connected to the IOT system and they are faster. 1905000666750 C. Loss of privacy and security.

1. Security Hacking is a very common concern according to Bisson anything in the industry that is controlled by the IOT is very attractive to the hackers because if they can hack it they can control the industry and even affects the physical machines. The company secrets and the employees’ personal data will be in danger.

Also, the manufacturing process itself may be stopped by the hacker or mess up the plan and make the product less efficient without the knowledge of the managers. 2. Safety Due to the complicated connections of the devices or virus, some Software malfunction can happen and that may put the life of the workers in danger. The companies will depend in the IOT to discover the problem in the system but if the IOT program is corrupted then the problem will be gathered until a big problem happens in the industry like an explosion or a fire. Why are they wrong?Dealing with The complexity:It is right that the industries that use IOT today are facing the complexity problem but that will not be the case if the companies started to hire the educated worker who are specialist in industrial IOT and who can deal with the different demands of IOT from the physical tools and devices to the security programs.

In addition, the companies must ensure that their components of IOT are fully integrated and must work together and be secure from edge to data storage, middleware, and analytics. industrial in the future will have smart and fast computers which can develop the security and database systems without the need for the humans understanding. The cameras and sensors and the intelligence computer in the whole industry will ensure that every tool does what they need to do. The creation of new Jobs:It is right that IOT will destroy some manual jobs but also it will create better and safer jobs to maintain, create and market the system. By 2020, according to the Centre for Economics and Business Research and technology firm SAS, some 182,000 jobs will be created in the UK by the IoT. The security of IoT will need security experts in cybersecurity programs and electronics and engineers. According to John Peterson, general manager of IT for the plant in TOYOTA, their IT team has more than doubled in the past year. IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Cisco and other manufacturing companies are hiring right now.

The following graphic provides a comparison of tech companies’ job ads mentioning IoT in the 2014 and 2015. The IoT will replace various low-skill jobs with high-skill engineering jobs. The connection of machines will lead to the creation of new jobs that will help drive business success. Hardware and software engineering as well mechanical designing and industrial engineering are desired -11836173Figure1 (Columbus, 2015)00Figure1 (Columbus, 2015)for IoT applications.0184355Figure 2 (https://www.

If a hacker wants to control IOT system he must understand it but if the software is updated either manually or automatically by the latest intelligent security program every period, then he will not be able to hack. In addition, with cybersecurity system in the connected devices, the industry will become like a human body which can detect any strange viruses and can alarm the company. The worker and customer information will be in different complex databases. The IOT in the industry is consist of many programs so even if he hacks one the other will alarm the company. According to rose Strategies need to be developed to respect individual privacy choices while still encouraging innovation in new IoT technologyThe safety 23523682746887Figure 4(Yarmoluk, 2017)00Figure 4(Yarmoluk, 2017)Some factory jobs are hazardous today for the human worker but using the IOT system instead of them will increase the safety in the industry.

The connected information will not just help to increase the money but also the health and safety. According to Wheelwright who cited Llamas Industrial IoT is especially interested in what could be achieved by connecting information about the air quality (especially from IoT devices) and miners’ health (like from wearable devices in figure 3) to reduce risks and costs and alert companies to the potential troubles. In addition, in the current time in the industry using IOT the safety of the worker has increased rapidly and according to Yarmoluk studies clearly, show that as the OEE (operational equipment efficiency) increase incidents rate go down as seen in figure 4 -929148261313Figure 3: Some wearable devices connected to the IoT (Wheelwright, 2017)00Figure 3: Some wearable devices connected to the IoT (Wheelwright, 2017) REFERENCESManwaring, K.
